We're kicking off fall over on Summerhill. Fall Decor is one of the favorites to shop for and adorn our home with. We're going to take a look back at some of our favorite fall posts today. Including one where we took our fall table decorations outdoors.
Fall Decor
The first day of fall this year is September 23rd, but who wants to wait until then to pull out your breathtaking fall decor. The leaves may not start changing where you are yet, but you can enhance the season with some outdoor fall decor. If a cool night presents itself, decorate for fall and have s'mores by the fire pit.

Update: Each year we are adding to this post our most current autumn decorating ideas. So let's start with this year's ideas.
Easy Fall Centerpiece Idea
This year, 2020, we are going for a natural fall vibe. If I had to go with something faux I tried to use a natural material. So let's start with our table centerpiece.
Easy and budget-friendly is this fall centerpiece idea. All you need is a 2 x 8 piece of wood chalk painted. Then sand the edges here and there.
Next tie a ribbon around a bundle of dried wheat and like magic you have an autumn table centerpiece.
Natural Faux Pumpkins in Doughbowl
Did I mention that this year I am trying to stay with more natural decorations? Since pumpkins hadn't arrived in stores yet I found these cut faux pumpkins that are wrapped in natural twine.
These are great to add to any bowl but I tossed them into my dough bowl under the TV.
Entryway Fall Decor
One thing I love to encourage others to do is to add some fall decorations to their entryway. It welcomes guests into a warm and cozy home.
Since I have a bench in my entryway I love to add holiday touches.
This year I went simple with a “thankful” pillow because these decorations will be here for Thanksgiving too and I changed my lamb ears wreath for a lovely straw hat.
Then to layer a little more style I added my french market basket and filled it with white mums, tossed some real pumpkins, and leaves from my backyard. If you're a fan of baskets, check out my easy fall basket decorating ideas for every room.
Front Door Autumn Wreath
Now let's work our way to the front porch where the natural theme continues. I created this simple autumn wheat wreath. This minimalist wreath is a hint to what is inside.
Small Fall Front Porch Ideas
And last from this year's ideas is a small fall front porch idea. This porch is broken down into zones.
For example I created a bench area and filled it with cozy fall accessories.
Stack things that make you think of fall like blanket or scarves, pumpkins, wheat, and so on.
Then add some mums somewhere as I did here in this old galvanized bucket.
And repetition is a good element of design so I added another pumpkin in our dog statues basket along with a sweet ribbon.
LOL! I just realized this pumpkin isn't real or made of natural materials.
Now don't forget about layered rugs. This year I used some wood flooring left over from an installation, painted it with fusion mineral paint, and clicked it together as the under mat.
Next, I topped it off with one of Joanna Gaines, Hearth and Hand doormat. The paint keeps scratching off here and there but I love it because that gives it character for the design.
And if you have a lantern laying around you can add it to another corner or nestle it next to your bench. I added some battery powered mini lights inside but you can put a candle, pumpkins, or pinecones.
So here is my small fall front porch all together in one photo.
Now let's look at last year's, 2019, ideas.
Front Door Fall Wreath
2019 was a bright and cheery fall decoration theme.
Remember that the front door is a hint to what is inside your home. Style your front door with a fall wreath then check out my how to hang a wreath with ribbon without damaging your door post.
This project was the most fun fall project yet. After removing a wheel from a child's bike, spray painting it gold, and then decorating it with Walmart flowers and pumpkins I couldn't believe how eye-catching it turned out.
Who knew adding a little pink to a fall wreath would be so popular. I think this means I need to do a DIY on how to make it. What do you think?
Fall Tablescape
More cheerful colors were added to this dollar store fall tablescape ideas.
Adding colors from the front door to the table pulls the whole design together.
Fall Entryway
After you have given your guests a hint of fall on the porch give them a little more in the entryway.
Toss some more fall items inside the front door with pumpkins, pillows, baskets and more.

Using Small Pumpkins in your Decor
Pumpkins are for sure the first things that come to mind when you think of what you will include in your fall decor. In this post we thought it would be fun to show you some out of the box places to incorporate your tiny pumpkins when you're sprinkling around your home.
Check out this adorable pup we have on our front porch! He was the perfect place for us to add a small pumpkin to our outdoor fall decor.
And if you have a special dinner planned drop a little pumpkin on their bread plate for some added autumn style.
Outdoor Fall Decor
The best time to entertain outside is fall and spring which is why the outdoor fall decor idea is so timely.
This arrangement was pulled together with mostly items I had laying around the house.
Check out the outdoor fall decor ideas post for inspiration to add some fall decor to your fire pit or outdoor party.
Hygge Inspired Thanksgiving Table
Gearing up for Thanksgiving goes hand in with fall decor. Stepping outside of the traditional dining room set up, we played outdoors and decided to make a dreamy hygge Thanksgiving table dinner setting. Most of the items we used, we already had on hand. The weather was perfect and so was the company we shared!
Part of the tablescape, were these simple yet precious place tags. We pinched off leaves of the eucalyptus and took chalk markers to write our guests names.
Fall Home Tour
Does this bench look familiar? Well, earlier in the post this bench is white but now it is blue and that because these ideas are from an old post.
There were places in our home we hadn't had a chance to explore, so we decided to take you on a home tour. The hope is that you will find some inspiration that you can't resist adding into your fall decor.
Have fun on our fall home tour and peek what else you love around our home from several years ago.
