Let's start with our porch where I want to encourage you also to begin.
Let your porch welcome people to your home with a taste of what is to come inside.
This year I decided to take our fall decor to a more muted color tone inside, but I could not leave my old tin pumpkins out so this is the most color you will find in this year's design.
Your front door is another great place to display your autumn home decor. Adding a burlap wreath or a wreath full of pumpkins will do the trick.
Foyer
Our newest addition to our furniture is this old upcycled bench.
I love it, but it still needs a little work which we will be writing a whole post about later. Maybe it needs some autumn home decor.
So what a perfect place to display some fall flavor just add a blanket or scarf, in this case, a pumpkin, art and you have a sweet autumn ensemble.
Living Room
Mantle
Now into the living room where another perfect place to decorate for holidays is the mantle.
If you have a mantle then its the perfect spot for some autumn home decor.
Let me share a tip with you about my mantle.
I kept all the main pieces and added a burlap wreath over my winter art and painted pastel pumpkins. It creates a big statement without having to store your accessories during the season.
And if you have been reading my post for some time now you probably have figured out I like garlands.
Decorating with cotton is so much fun. It is so much fun until I wrote a whole post just about decorating with cotton.
What says fall and the south like cotton. I love how the cotton softly drapes the mantle without taking away from the pumpkins.
End tables
Here is another piece I have had for years. I purchased these pilgrims at Cracker Barrel which is a great place to shop for holiday accessories.
A fall home tour wouldn't be complete without some pilgrims.
Working some new fall pieces into your existing accessories bring the seasonal colors throughout the room very nicely.
Pillows
When shopping for your fall accessories always look for a blanket and pillow or two to add to your design. I recommend working these items in where they fit your color scheme.
Here is another fun idea!
Look for family photos that have a fall feeling to them.
This photo of my girls was taken in the autumn, and it adds to the ambiance of these accessories. This whole design has an old farm feel that seems as if it all went together back at the farm.
Speaking of back at the farm here is another design that could fit into a modern day barn.
These shiny white pumpkins cozy up to this old lantern bringing together old and new.
Pumpkins are the icing on the cake when decorating with autumn home decor.
Dining Room
What is a fall home tour without a dining room table centerpiece?
We always keep this tray and bottles on the table so it was simple to add some raffia and pumpkins to the spread. This tiny little addition created such a beautiful festive piece to the dining space.
Here are more details on how to make this harvest centerpiece.
Hall
Just when you think you have seen all the decorations, there is a taste of autumn down the hall.
Fabric pumpkins are so popular this year which I love because of the texture and the fact that they never spoil, haha!
Like I said before you add a little holiday flavor to your existing accessories. Here I added the pumpkin and wooden beads.
