Peace on Earth free printable

Peace on Earth free printable designs are perfect no matter what year or season it is.  With all that is happening around the world, I thought that introducing a child into the scene would give a sense of true peace.

We can learn so much from children with their love, trust, and innocence.  So here is how I styled this free printable on our Christmas mantle.

PEACE ON EARTH FREE PRINTABLE

I have to credit my daughter, Savanna, with the idea of a child pulling a Christmas tree as our free printable. It wasn't until later that the words Peace on Earth came into play.

First, we took some photos of the little girl that Savanna nannies, and then we change them over to a watercolor.  That is when I began to visualize this as just what our mantle would need for Christmas.

I had the design printed on blueprint paper at a local print shop,  The Blueprint Shop in Tallahassee.  It was fairly inexpensive.

Next, I cut some boards just a little larger than the graphic design and nailed them together. Then I spray mounted the printable on the boards.

Last, I swirled some modge-podge on the top and painted some milk paint around the edges.  I did a tiny bit of distressing by following Maison de Pax technique, but honestly, it looked great without this step.

FLOCKED GARLAND

The next step to bringing this mantle design together required adding some snow to the garland.  I gave it a good spray with Sno Blower and then let it dry a little outside.

Then I simply laid this garland on my mantle and gently laid my pinecone lights behind and over it.

DANISH TREES

Have I mentioned how easy this mantle design is?  Well, next position your wooden carved trees on the end of the mantle, or you can use lanterns here if you like.

POM POM GARLAND

Do you see how we are working our way from the top down?  I don't always recommend accessorizing this way, but in this case, it seems to be working.

Next, hang your pompom garland.  Here are directions on how to make a pom pom garland.

This year I decided to make mine instead of purchasing them.  I didn't even need directions on how to make these because when I was a cheerleader, we made them for our shoes.

I am not sure why we did this except we thought they looked cute.  Haha!   Regardless, they are fun and very easy to make.  I made it in an hour!

STOCKINGS

I bet you didn't know that we completely changed our mantle design last year!  Well, if you are like my family and me you cannot just go out and spend a bunch of money on decorating right here at Christmas time.  So, the inexpensive stocking will have to do for now but hopefully one Christmas we will have some yummy sweater stockings or maybe even those luscious fur ones.

I guess you have to check back next Christmas to see if we get new stockings!  But for now, go ahead and hang your stockings at each end of the mantle.  And guess what, you are finished!

CONCLUSION AND CHECKLIST

Here is a recap of the steps and what you will need to create a Peace on Earth free printable mantle.

  • Peace on Earth free printable
  • Printed at a print shop
  • Spray mounted on some wood (milk painted and distress optional)
  • Artificial Garland sprayed with Sno Blower
  • Pinecone lights
  • Danish wood carved trees
  • Yarn pom pom garland
  • Stocking (one for each family member or whatever fancies you)

I told you that was the simplest mantle ever.  If I were good at keeping a real garland alive, then I would have loved, loved, loved to use one here.

If you have a green thumb, I strongly encourage it.

There is just something lovely about real greenery when decorating!  I hope our mantle gave you some inspiration and I also hope our Peace on Earth free printable is just what your fireplace needs too.  Even if it doesn't, look around on Pinterest for other ideas on how to decorate with free printables.

Hello, Linda. I have subscribed to your newsletter, received the confirmation email and was able to access your printables library. However, every time I wish to access the library again in order to download another of your lovely free printables, it appears I have to subscribe AGAIN to the newsletter to access the library. Is there a better way to access library after I have already subscribed to the newsletter? Please advise. Thanks. Wynonne Saavedra

Hi Wynonne!

Thank you so much for reaching out. I am glad you are using the printable library. You should not have to subscribe every time you want to download from the library. Go back to your email where I sent the link to the library and click on the link again. Once you click the link and you are in the library take a look at the URL at the top of your screen. That is the link where you will go whenever you want to see what is new in the library or if you want to refer back to it for any of the free printables. One other suggestion is to highlight the URL and drag and drop it into your bookmarks. If you are in chrome your bookmarks area is just below where the URL is located. Also, any emails you get from now on there is a section about halfway down where I have the most current free printable and there is a link to the library there. I hope this is helpful! Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
