EASY EASTER PLACE SETTING IDEAS AND CENTERPIECES FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Easy Easter place setting and centerpieces for your dinner table that can be created in a snap. This is a great place to start curating ideas for a simple tablescape for Easter Sunday.

Easter place setting and centerpieces

I am so excited to share with you my Easter place setting ideas and centerpieces from past Easters in my home. One of my favorite parts about the holidays is the table decorations.

Easter Place Settings

At our house, my hubby is usually in charge of holiday food, probably because I am most concerned about the decorations. If only the Easter bunny would take care of the decor when he fills the baskets, then maybe I would have been a better Easter Sunday cook. Haha!

Chocolate Bunny Place Setting

Let's start with one of my first Easter place settings that I created for the blog.

One thing I always think about first when creating a place setting is the decorative piece in the middle. Sometimes it is a sprig of rosemary or just a neatly folded napkin, but this Easter the star was a real chocolate bunny.

I mean who would not love to have an adorable piece of confectionary on their plate?

To build this Easter place setting simply start with a large white serving plate on the bottom. You can use one that has a ruffle look around the edge or a lace design like this one. But if you love a more simple design then a white charger will do too.

Next, add a beautiful pastel-colored dishtowel. This dishtowel I had monogrammed with our family initial but just a simple towel will do.

Now follow with a dinner plate that is white or one with a delicate flower design. Think about spring if you are going to use a pattern on your plate. Look for pastels or beautiful spring colors.

Okay so here is the really fun part! Add some Easter grass on your plate then unwrap your chocolate bunny and sit him on the grass. Last make a bow and set the bow on the bunnies neck.

You do not need to tie the bow to the bunny. In fact, I found it laid better to just sit the bow on his neck.

Rae Dunn Place Setting

Remember me mentioning that these designs are easy to create? Well, this one is very easy and inexpensive.

If you have a decorative and fun centerpiece then you don't necessarily have to go all out on the place setting.

This place setting is a white plate found at Walmart and a small Rae Dunn plate found at TJ Maxx. Because I put so much into the centerpiece I decided to downplay the place setting but I still wanted it to be special.

At this dinner, each guest will get to take home the Rae Dunn “eat” plate.

So now that we have a few ideas for the Easter place setting, let's talk about how do you set an Easter table.

How Do You Set An Easter Table?

Honestly, there are no rules for setting an Easter table. However, there are traditional foods and some traditional decorations.

Some popular decorations are bunnies, chicks, a cross, dyed Easter eggs, baskets, grass and so on. And there are many wonderful and delicious traditional foods. But I am not going into that territory. I will leave that to my friend Mel who has a whole post full of 50+ traditional Easter dinner menu ideas.

And as far as how to set the table I would stay with customary rules for setting a table. Plate in the middle with a knife and spoon to the right and fork to the left. You can put the napkin to the right of the spoon or on the plate.

Easter Centerpieces

So now that we have had some fun with the place setting ideas here are a few Easter centerpieces that will bring joy to your table.

Keeping with the easy and simple plan for your Easter table grab another serving plate, pie plate, Easter grass, decorative eggs, and another chocolate bunny.

Chocolate Bunny Centerpiece

Easter centerpiece of layered dishes, bright colored grass, chocolate bunny, glass eggs.

This Easter centerpiece pairs really nice with the chocolate bunny place setting. All you need to do is stack the layers with the serving place first, then the piece plate, Easter grass, decorative eggs and top it all off with a chocolate Easter bunny.

Just talking about this is inspiring me to create more fun ideas with chocolate Easter bunnies. They are so cute!!!

Okay, so think about multiple colors of Easter grass to make a bright and cheery color scheme. Once you have the grass in place, nestle the chocolate bunny into the grass and surround him with the decorative eggs.

I found these eggs at the dollar tree years ago but I have seen them in dollar bins since then.

Dough Bowl Easter Centerpieces

I love using grass in centerpieces for Easter. You can just about pull any bowl out of your cupboard or china cabinet and fill it with grass and goodies and you have a centerpiece or table decoration.

For this Easter centerpiece, pull out your vintage or antique dough bowl. Fill it with some white grass, I searched for grass that was not shiny, and add the grass to your bowl. Then place a vintage or antique bunny rabbit mold in the middle.

Once you have the bunny in place sprinkle some speckled eggs around the bunny for decorations. I found these eggs at Target and I believe they still have them this year.

Another idea with a dough bowl is this one I created a few years ago. It has a more natural, country vibe to it.

Simply take your dough bowl and drop some timothy hay at the bottom. You can find timothy hay in any pet store or pet section at Walmart, Target or a grocery store.

Once you have the hay nestled down in the bottom lay some wooden eggs on top of the hay. This is a very simple project. You can even change out the wooden eggs with hard-boiled eggs.

Easter Tiered Tray Centerpieces

Easter tiered tray design filled with bunnies, eggs, grass, dish towels, wooden beads and more.

Tiered trays are so popular these days and what a charming way to add style to your Easter table than with an Easter tiered tray centerpiece.

For this project, you will need a tiered tray. You can buy one from places like Amazon or make one as I demonstrated on how to make a tiered tray.

If you do not have a tiered tray you can use some household items to create a two or three-tiered tray like I show on styling tiered trays.

So now you have a tiered tray all you need to do is place small Easter decorative items on the tray then fill in with greenery, Easter grass, and flowers.

A great place to look for tiered tray items is Etsy, dollar spot at Target, Dollar tree and so on. I also like to look through my Easter box of decorations.

Isn't it fun to pull out your decorations each year only to be surprised by things you forgot you had in the antique?

When to Put Up Easter Decorations?

Speaking of pulling down your decorations and going through it for items for your tiered tray let's talk about when is a good time to put up Easter decorations.

I personally feel it is okay to start decorating for spring and Easter right after Valentine's day. I like to put out one bunny within all my everyday decorations or change out a piece of art for an Easter piece of art.

This reminds me, this month my free printable to anyone who subscribes to the newsletter is a piece you can use for art.

Bunny Wreath Free Printable

Isn't she adorable!

We have named her Bella because a friend of mine has a bunny that looks just like her and her name is Bella. Plus Bella means beautiful and this is one beautiful bunny.

So feel free to add this sweet piece of art to your decorations this Easter. Simply sign up for the newsletter and you will get a link to the free printable library.
