DIY FLOORING IDEAS
You don't have to have a special talent or trade to be able to change the look of the flooring in your home. Our friends have some great and simple DIY flooring ideas that you are just going to love.
Let's jump in and show you.
FLOOR POPS IN A FARMHOUSE KITCHEN
The idea of laying tile might terrify you, but that's why we want to show you what Floor Pops. It's a peel and stick vinyl floor tile. No grout or special tools required!
Our friend Ashley, from Fontaine Farmhouse, choose the Altair style of Floor Pops for her farmhouse kitchen and it looks amazing!
PEEL & STICK TILE IN A KITCHEN
Sheila, over at Little Rustic Dream, also went with the Floor Pops peel and stick tile for her kitchen DIY floor project.
She chose the Gothic pattern and it makes such a lovely statement in her kitchen.
PAINTED CORK FLOORING
If you'd like a great step by step tutorial on painting cork flooring, Brittany, from White Farmhouse, provides you just that on her Instagram page and she has a painted floors post on her website too that goes into more detail.
Brittany walks you through priming, paint color selection, type of paint she used and so much more.
The project turned out gorgeous!
BUFFALO CHECK PAINTED PATTERN ON TILE
Sherry, at Savvy Apron, writes a post on her blog all about how she painted buffalo on her laundry room floor.
This is an inexpensive solution to creating a new look without having to tear up tile.
PAINTED STENCIL TILE FLOORING IN A LAUNDRY ROOM
Painting tile with a stencil is a great idea! Our friend Liz, over at Within The Grove, did just that and you can see that it is beautiful!
If you'd like step by step instructions and tips, she lays everything out for you on her blog.
TILE STENCILING ON A LAUNDRY ROOM RENO
Fariha, from Pennies for a Fortune, walks you through tile stenciling in her laundry room makeover blog post.
Something she does differently is painting her tile black and then the stenciling in white.
The ending project is breathtaking!
STENCILED OUTDOOR TILES
This outdoor stenciled tile project that Ashley, over at Arrows & Bows, did is gorgeous.
All of the hard work she put into it really paid off!
This technique covers all of the stains and cracks perfectly.
PAINTED STRIPED CONCRETE PORCH
Lolly Jane shows this inviting porch in their blog post and how they went about painting it.
It requires a little elbow grease to make sure you are starting with a clean surface, but after that, painting a concrete porch looks like a breeze.
PAINTED GINGHAM PATTERN ON A CONCRETE PORCH
This front porch with a painted gingham pattern on concrete turned out lovely.
Gwyneth, from House Wife Home Show, pulled off a sweet transformation that is welcoming to anyone that steps onto her porch.
FRONT PORCH PAINTED STEPS
You might recognize that front door and striking wreath that we featured in our post about farmhouse spring wreath ideas.
This is the home of our friend Kristi, from The Pickled Rose.
She pulled off this brilliant look on her front steps by simply painting the concrete black and adding a couple of white stripes.
STENCILING BRICK PATTERN ON CONCRETE PATIO
Our friend Sarah, at Dreaming of Homemaking, stenciled a brick pattern on her patio.
She was sweet enough to create highlights on her Instagram page to help you recreate the look. If you love it as much as we do, hop over and check out how your patio can look this great!
